Peak crosshair speed

The fastest the crosshair turned during a kill, compared with ordinary kills made with the same kind of weapon.

How fast was the quickest turn, compared with similar kills?

Two speed curves: a tall sniper flick and a lower rifle tap.
Compared within weapon classA sniper flick is bigger than a rifle tap, so each is compared with its own kind.

What it is

For each kill Overshoot records how fast the crosshair turned at its quickest moment, in degrees per tick. That number alone tells you little, so it is compared with ordinary Premier kills made with the same weapon class: rifles, snipers, SMGs or pistols.

Why weapon class matters

Snipers reward big fast flicks. Rifles reward small, controlled ones. Comparing across weapons would make every sniper look unusual.

What ordinary play looks like

Fast flicks are normal in a game where aim is the skill. Players with high sensitivity or flick-heavy roles produce fast turns, and lobby skill may shift what is typical. So a fast flick is interesting only alongside other measurements, and when many kills sit at the extreme.

Where it is used

This measurement is in the research fact sheet today. It is not in the app yet.

Keep in mind

What this cannot tell you

  • Speed alone is common in honest, flick-heavy play.
  • Lobby skill changes what is typical, so the reference will be rebuilt as it grows.
  • It is never shown without the weapon class it was compared within.
